In 2006, Shaklee Corporation marked its 50th year with a continued commitment to producing top quality products, to environmental citizenship, and to ongoing philanthropic endeavors. Founded on the philosophy of offering products in harmony with nature and good health, Shaklee adheres to the principles that were established by Shaklee’s founder, Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee. Ingredients must be as natural as possible and ingredients must reflect the most recent scientific and technological advances. The major priority for Shaklee is to use natural ingredients in the products whenever possible.
Shaklee defines "quality" as meeting or exceeding the highest standards in the industry, from product conception to market entry. A team led by Jamie McManus, MD, Chairman of Medical Affairs, Health Science and Education, is comprised of nutritionists, chemists and food scientists, who are involved in all stages of new product development and the continuing evaluation of existing products.
Shaklee is a leader in research, has powered numerous athletes including Olympic medalists, has provided NASA with a re-hydration drink for the astronauts for their re-entry to Earth's atmosphere for years, and was green before it was popular to be called green. The company philosophy includes Always Safe, Always Green and Always Works.

Raining
After about 2 wks of very hot dry weather in Seattle it is now raining. Left hot weather a wk ago to go to St Louis for the Shaklee conference - it is very hot and very very humid there -sunny skies but heavy air. I'm glad to be back in the cooler less humid part of the country. The rain might green up our grass because it looks like straw right now. In our flower garden pictured here, we use organic fertilizers, including Shaklee Basic H. This year it looks a bit different as we have tomatos and squash planted near the building. We water with the hose so we can target areas that need it.
