Perseid Meteor Shower

The Perseid Meteor Shower is this time of year, well, to brag, it actually falls right on my birthday give or take a few hours between 2 days. When I was small we could see so many stars and one satellite (Sputnik), but now with all the lights that the cities have and in neighborhoods, one has to go a long way out to find a dark enough place to view the sky. We used to go to Sunrise at Mt Rainier, about 6100 foot elevation - the meteors shoot through the parking lot. There are some towns in the U.S. that ban light pollution, as it is called, and keep the towns dark at night. It's a good idea to save energy also; maybe just have motion detector lights instead of ones that stay on all night. I've read that light pollution has health consequences such as the thought that excess light may induce loss in visual acuity. Over-illumination of buildings is a waste of energy sources.
OK, back to the meteor shower - I found this on You Tube and it's very good, about 5 minutes long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ_B0d1pr6I&NR=1
Take a nap and set your alarm clock to watch the Perseids. If you need energy the next day try Shaklee CorEnergy and the Cinch Tea!
